[Sei Madou Monogatari] Sorcery Saga

Aksys Games is bringing Sei Madou Monogatari, Compile Heart’s rogue-like dungeon crawler for PS Vita, to North America in early 2014 as Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God, the publisher announced at Anime Expo in Los Angeles.

The game follows protagonist Pupuru in her quest to create the greatest curry ever and save a local restaurant. Here’s Play-Asia‘s full description:

To graduate from the magic academy, Pupuru has to retrieve the Madokyuu from the Mado Tower. However, instead of the relic, she finds a book full of curry recipes inside and releases Ku-chan, a strange creature. For this, she is suspended from school.

However, she isn’t the type to mope around, since a curry restaurant near the school is facing a crisis, she decides to use the recipes in the book to create Mado-Curry to save the restaurant, and for that, she needs four legendary ingredients.

But standing in her way is an evil lord determined to marry her, a jealous witch who sees her as a rival and perverted wizards and heroes.

Sorcery Saga first launched for PS Vita in Japan on March 28.

Aksys Games has revealed a limited edition of its upcoming Compile Heart-developed, rogue-like dungeon crawler, Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God. Named the "Hot and Spicy, Everything Nicey Limited Edition," it includes a "Kuu-rry" plate and spoon, as well as a bib featuring various creatures and characters from the game. Sorcery Saga stars magic school student Pupuru, who finds herself suspended after releasing a mysterious and hungry creature she names Kuu. During her suspension, Pupuru becomes involved in a dispute between a friend's curry resturant and a new chain that has entered town. Pupuru soon beings a quest to save her friend's restaurant by finding the ingredients to the Legendary Magic Curry. Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God is due out exclusively on PlayStation Vita in North America this winter.

So… you worked on Fate/Extra and I heard that Fate/Extra CCC was being shopped around to publishers… can you say if Aksys is working on this at all?

Hmm… I heard about the game and it was released in Japan. Fate/Extra is a great game and I highly recommend everybody pick it up, but don’t start with Caster unless you like frustration for the first hour of the game. And my answer is: yes, I like curry very much.

Eu gostei do game, mas não tenho experiência com rogue likes então minha análise vai ser superficial. A história é bem simples mas divertida, o melhor são as interações entre os personagens. A jogabilidade na maior parte do tempo é matar, explorar e catar itens, só de vez em quando você precisa de uma estratégia mais elaborada usando as skills. Às vezes está tudo indo bem e aparece uma monster house que te mata em dois turnos.    E morrendo perde tudo menos o que está equipado e tem que começar de novo do primeiro andar. Depois que termina a história principal você tem acesso a uma dungeon extra de 256 andares que eu ainda não fiz.
