Tales of Xillia 2 commercial ‘episode 7′, new outfit details
Ludger gets Cook and Dealer outfits.

Namco Bandai shared new details on Tales of Xillia 2 during a talk event in Nagoya today. The information includes new costumes, attachments, and other fun facts.

• The default outfits from the first game and a color variation from Tales of Xillia 2 will be available. Alvin’s blazer is white. Leia’s jacket is pink.


• Images of Ludger wearing Cook and Dealer outfits were revealed.


• The Dealer costume consists of a white shirt with black pants and green suspenders. Maybe. Our source doesn’t seem very sure. The green might have been a bow tie or a regular tie.


• You can get a Monster Head attachment from Musee.


• If Ludger goes into Corpse Shell mode during battle, his costume is still reflected. The Monster Head attachment is forced off, however.


• If battle closes while Ludger is in Corpse Shell mode, he’ll remain in Corpse Shell mode during the results screen.

Additionally, the seventh episode in the game’s series of TV spots has come out. It’s heavily focused on Ufotable’s anime cutscenes. Watch it below.

This week’s issue of Famitsu has new details on three new sets of Tales of Xillia 2 download content: Tales, swimsuits, and sports outfits.

Tales Character Outfits

Release Date: November 22, 300 yen each

• Ludger: Luca Milda (becomes Asras in Corpse Shell mode) from Tales of Innocence


• Gaius: Dymlos Timber from Tales of Destiny


• Musee: Sheena Fujibayashi from Tales of Smyphonia

Swimsit Outfits

Release Date: November 15, 300 yen each

• Ludger: Covered by a towel and Lulu parka.


• Gaius: Has shorts and a towel on the head.


• Musee: Erotic.

Sports Outfits

Releae Date: November 8, 300 yen each

• Ludger: Basketball outfit.


• Jude: Amercan football outfit.


• Milla: Tennis outfit.


• Leia: Soccer outfit.


• Alvin: Baseball outfit.


• Elise: Gymnastics outfit.


• Roen: Archery outfit.


• Gaius: Judo outfit.


• Musee: Swimming race swimsuit outfit.

The issue also shared a few new general gameplay details:

• The higher your relationship degree is, the shell gauge will fill up quicker when you link up.


• There is a skill that slows the reduction of the shell gauge when you are in the air.


• When “Mighty Charge” maintains guard for 0.75 seconds, AC+1 and TP consumption is at 25%.


• There is “Mighty Charge 2″ as well. Changing into “Upper Bryce” is also regarded as an effect of “Mighty Charge.”

This week’s issue also has the first review for the game. It received a 9, 9, 8, and 9 (35/40). The game takes approximately 50 hours to clear, or about 100 hours with additional content included.

Original Milla returns in Tales of Xillia 2
Good ol' Milla returns in Xillia sequel.

Jump this week reveals Milla Maxwell, the original Milla from the first Tales of Xillia, is set to return in Tales of Xillia 2.

[Warning: the follow description may be considered spoilers for the first Tales of Xillia. I'm not sure, honestly, but read ahead with caution.]

Nothing has changed about Milla. She is still herself. The same Milla who saved the world with Jude a year prior to the events of Tales of Xillia 2. She is the current Lord of Spirits, a title which she inherited from earlier generations of Maxwells.

Famitsu’s thoughts on Tales of Xillia 2
Tales sequel is 50 hours long, has high levels of freedom.

Tales of Xillia 2 scored a 35 out of 40 in Famitsu this week. Here are the magazine’s impressions from the game, in handy bullet form:

• Takes 50 hours to clear. 100 hours with side quests, etc.


• High degree of freedom.


• However it might not be easy to understand without playing the previous title.


• In the first playthrough, Ludger doesn’t have very many spoken lines.


• It felt like earning gold might be difficult, but if you do quests and level up you can earn it.


• The flexibility of battles has increased.


• Personally, I liked that paying back debt was relevant in the scenarios, but some people may not care.


• The previous title is summarized by the digest movies, but I want to play it in advance.


• I was able to drop in without progressing the story, even if the conditions to do so were met.


• There are a lot of random choices.


• The battle style introduction is the most refreshing so far.


• I felt that many of the choices you make are reflected in the story.


• In the early stages, I was concerned it was a bit monotonous, but the scenarios and characters were charming.


• Since the character’s were drawn with so much care, it’s easy to become attached to them.


• I felt that a limit of 5 quests at a time was too small.


• I think it’d be easy for an inexperienced player to pick up, but they might be perplexed in the early stages.


• There is a lot of room to fight in battles.


• The option to make a choice appears everywhere, which raises the degree of empathy for the characters.


• The contents fulfill the expectations of fans.


• Players who haven’t experienced the previous title can enjoy it, but they’d enjoy it even more if they played it.
