Soul Hackers On 3DS Adds 30 Demons Like Forneus, Thor, And A Dog Girl
Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers for Nintendo 3DS has 30 new demons, the back cover says. On top of Pixie and Devil Buster Hunters, players will be able to summon Thor, Kaiwan, Domarth, Forneus, and Doman. If you played Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne you probably remember Forneus being one of the first bosses in the game. Thor shows up later on as a boss too.
Doman is a boss from the original Shin Megami Tensei. Domarth is a dog-girl who is actually tied to the Devil Summoner games. She’s a central character in the Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army light novel. In the story, she can stun enemies by howling.
Atlus is continuing its localization streak with Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers for 3DS, coming to North America in spring 2013.
Developed in-house at Atlus, the first-person, dungeon-crawling RPG is an enhanced port of the PlayStation classic released in 1999 with new gameplay features, enhancements, and a full English localization. It is set in a future where technology and otherworldly forces meet in a “macabre fusion of cyberpunk futurism and gothic horror.” Set in a city dubbed “humanity’s triumph of technology,” but one with an “infernal secret,” it follows a group of hackers who battle a centuries-old mystic society for control over the fate of humanity.
In battle, players will have the option to fight the demons they come across or to recruit them as party members. 30 additional demons, a new opening animation movie and theme song, improved controls, and faster load times have been adde to the 3DS version. The bottom screen has been adapted for an auto-mapping function, and will allow players to change difficulty whenever they like and fill out maps without walking through. An extra dungeon featuring raidou Kuzunoha from previous Devil Summoner games will be unlocked upon initial completion of the game.
