Square Enix is already known to be readying new information on the Wii U version of Dragon Quest X for this month’s Tokyo Game Show. Today, it was announced that producer Yosuke Saito will host a “Dragon Quest X Wii U Demonstration Stage” during the late September event.

The description of the stage promises new information, and doesn’t mention a live demo specifically, but given the name, I think it can be expected. The publisher has said there will not be a playable demo of the Wii U version on the show floor.

Square Enix is also hosting a number of other Dragon Quest-related stage events, including one where it plans to detail the first major update following the game’s August 2 Japanese release, which will go live in October.

Dragon Quest X Gains Ranger And Paladin Jobs, Level Cap Levels Up To 55

Square Enix is updating Dragon Quest X will more content geared towards high level players. First, they are bumping the level cap up from 50 to 55. Dragon Quest X will also get two new jobs – Paladin and Ranger.

 

Paladins know healing magic and can use lances in battle. Rangers use bows and allow players to snipe slimes from a distance. Rangers can also use boomerangs, a weapon that hits multiple enemies, but not *every* enemy on screen like other Dragon Quest games. Players will have to complete quests to unlock new Dragon Quest X jobs, which Square Enix says will work just like Dragon Quest IX.

 

 

Square Enix is also tweaking how players can buy homes and are letting players store more items in their homes using dressers and other similar furniture.

 

Dragon Quest X For Wii U Has Better Shadows, Same Content As Wii Version

Square Enix had a stage presentation where producer Yosuke Saito showed Dragon Quest X running on Wii U. While Dragon Quest X is an online game, the part Square Enix showed during Tokyo Game Show was not connected to the Nintendo Network.

 

Saito demonstrated how players can send the game graphics from the TV to the Wii U gamepad while you’re playing it. The Wii U version has been upgraded with HD graphics. One of the presenters pointed out the shadows in Dragon Quest X for Wii U show the shape of a character while the Wii shadows are just circles. (The screenshot is from the Wii version, which is currently out in Japan.)

 

Wii and Wii U players will be on the same Dragon Quest X server. Saito explained because of this the content for both versions of Dragon Quest X will be the same. You can transfer your character from the Wii version to the Wii U version. Dragon Quest X for Wii U will still have a monthly fee for Wii U.

 

When’s it coming out? Square Enix didn’t announce a date for Dragon Quest X on the Wii U or the Wii U beta test which comes as a bonus if you purchase the premium Wii U console.

The Wii U version of Dragon Quest X has been given a launch window.

Series creator Yuji Horii said during a Tokyo Game Show stage event that they’ll try their best to put it out before the Sakura blossoms end. In other words, spring.

Producer Yosuke Saito said he would like to launch a beta test for the massively multiplayer online RPG in January or February next year.

Dragon Quest X’s New Paladin And Ranger Jobs Detailed

Square Enix will release a big update for Dragon Quest X in October with Paladin and Ranger jobs.

 

The Ranger uses bows, boomerangs, and axes. (Boomerangs and bows are new to Dragon Quest X.) Their "survival" skill gives them some recovery spells that restore HP and negate negative statuses. New skills let Rangers trick monsters into attacking each other and a swift strike called Wolf Attack.

 

Paladins use lances, hammers, and staves along with their class skill "benevolence." Paladins are guardians of the party and also have recovery spells. If you want to make a striking type of character pick the hammer as your weapon. Want to specialize in magic? Choose the staff. HP Passer lets the Paladin take damage instead of a party member. Blade of Defense counterattacks enemies that strike the Paladin with blades that emit from their body.

 

Players have to take quests to get these jobs in Dragon Quest X. The housing system will go live in October too. You can purchase land and a house kit to build your own base. Inside your home you can restore HP/MP and craft items inside. Houses can be customized and you can store 50 items inside.

 

   

 

Dragon Quest X came out on August 2 and this will be the first major update from the online Wii game.

Square Enix shared the debut trailer for the Wii U version of Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Online during this morning’s Japanese Nintendo Direct broadcast.

The game, due spring 2013 in Japan, can be purchased at both retail and on the Wii U eShop when it launches.

Square Enix considera lançar Dragon Quest X no Ocidente



Em agosto terão se passado dois anos desde que Dragon Quest X foi lançado no Japão para a Wii, mas ao que parece, só agora é que a Square Enix está considerando lançar o jogo nos territórios Ocidentais.

A informação não veio da Square Enix, foi o analista David Gibson que comentou no Twitter que a editora japonesa acredita que pode conseguir lucros razoáveis ao lançar Dragon Quest X por estes lados.



Dragon Quest X também está disponível para a Wii U e PC. Estas versões foram lançadas em 2013, em março e setembro, respectivamente, e apresentam melhorias visuais em comparação com a primeira versão para Wii.

Existem diferenças em relação aos Dragon Quest anteriores, sendo as mais notórias a necessidade de uma assinatura mensal e uma ligação à Internet para poder jogar, dado que passadas as primeiras horas, é preciso estar online para acessar aos conteúdos restantes.
