Explore an entirely new area of the game.Namco Bandai will host a PlayStation 3 closed beta test for Dark Souls II in North America and Europe on October 5, the company announced.
Fans who want to get into the beta test, which will test your skill, fortitude, and will to survive in an “entirely new area of the game,” should pay attention to the game’s official Facebook page beginning September 5 for updates.
In related news, Namco Bandai also shared a new video interview with game director Yui Tanamura featuring the first player-versus-player footage of Dark Souls II.
Dark Souls II is due out for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in March 2014.
Do you want to get in on Dark Souls II a bit early? Well you should think about signing up for the beta. All you have to do is download a "ticket" off the PlayStation Store and you'll have a chance to get in (there's no guarantees). The beta phase itself will begin on October 12th with another phase on October 27th. Right now the ticket is only available on the EU store, but it should roll out shortly in other regions.
Along with Metal Gear Solid V, Dark Souls II is my most anticipated game of 2014. I can't wait to dig into the beta and see if it's really on par with the rest of the franchise.
